Muk is the evolved form of Grimer and represents pollution given physical form. This Poison-type's sludgy body is so toxic that nothing can grow where it passes, and it leaves a trail of poisonous slime. The card's "Poison Gas" attack could poison multiple Pokemon at once. Muk's grotesque purple appearance and environmental message about pollution made it both memorable and slightly controversial, representing the darker aspects of urban Pokemon encounters.
